Updates from the Field

One of Mission Link's main features is to allow a mission team or missionary the ability to post perdiodic (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly) updates to the Mission Link portal. This will help teams keep their partners back home more connection to the overall vision.

There are 5 main pieces of the Updates feature.

1. Summary

Many times it is conventient to have the team type up a summary of the day's activities. This is typically information and designed to give the users a overall idea of what life is like on the mission field.

2. Prayer Requests

While on the field, you need as much prayer covering as possible. This page will help you convey the needs from the field and help you avoid being "gone and forgotten."

3. Photos

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Be sure to take a good camera to the field and have someone trained in photography. The photos are displayable one at a time as the user clicks through the "Google-like" selection criteria.

4. Videos

If you have the ability to do video editting while on the field, it will be a HUGE impact if you are able up vidoes to the website. Visitors are better able to hear the sounds and imagine the smells of the mission field.

5. Audio

At first glance it can be hard to justify needing audio MP3 files for uploading. However, think of the impact if your visitors can actually and "hear" one of the team members giving a testimony.
